Rao Tummala
Professor Tummala, founding director of the Microelectronics Packaging Research Center,
is currently an Endowed Chair Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering and Materials
Science and Engineering at the Georgia Institute of Technology. He is also an Eminent
Scholar for the State of Georgia and was recently named Temasek Professor at the National University
of Singapore where he leads a joint program between NUS, the Institute of
Microelectronics of Singapore and Georgia Tech in Nano wafer level packaging. Additionally, Dr. Tummala
is President of the IEEE-CPMT Society. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Professor Tummala was an IBM
fellow where he pioneered and introduced several major packaging technologies including the industry's
first MCM, LTCC packaging and flat panel display.
Gary Monetti
Mr. Monetti brings a wealth of experience to JMD from his 22-year career at Sawtek, one
of the world's leading manufacturers of RF SAW filters. Mr. Monetti held a variety of management
positions with Sawtek, including VP of Sales and Marketing, VP of Engineering, Chief Operating
Officer, and President and CEO. After the acquisition of Sawtek by TriQuint Semiconductor in 2001,
Mr. Monetti continued to serve until 2004 in the Office of the President of the Sawtek division.
Mr. Monetti currently works as an industry consultant and advisor to various private venture businesses.
George Conner
Mr. Conner recently retired from Philips Semiconductors with more than 36 years of experience
in the semiconductor industry. Prior to his retirement from Philips in June 2005, Mr. Conner served
as the Director, Advanced RF Technology Program in the CTO organization and Chairman of the New
Technology Team - RF. In those roles he was instrumental in the development of Philips' current
RF technology strategy, RF research program direction and RF technology roadmaps, which encompass
a strong reliance on novel SiP technologies. He has authored more than five patents, numerous
technical papers and presentations and has participated as a member of IEEE conference panel sessions.
He is currently a consultant in IC technology, with an RF focus.
